I wonder if there is a hydraulic problem with these cars that Ford aren't talking about. Upon having the clutch repaired, it was discovered that there was a problem with the input shaft on the gearbox. When the specialists came to rebuild it, they found it impossible to source a second hand input shaft that was usable. Posted April 5, 2018. The Focus MK3/MK3.5 lower gearbox mounts are known to be quite soft to reduce vibrations. This is a product feature and not a problem. The downside is that the engine can move quite a bit. Changing the gearbox mount for a standard version will probably not solve the problem.

First post here i just recently bought a used 2007 2.3litre Mondeo. recently i just had a gearbox seal replaced as there was a very slight leak i drove off from the workshop without any problems. after a couple of days, the gearbox didnt shift up by itself but manually selecting the gears is fine.

Check the condenser to see if it’s blocked by debris. If your condenser has taken damage or is clogged up, it can’t remove the heat from the refrigerant. Check to ensure that the electric fan over the condenser is engaging. If the cooling system works better on the highway (where fans aren’t needed), your Mondeo may be having fan issues
When the gear knob is off carefully lift there lift revers off careful not to tip the spring out and place it to one side. Lift the old gaiter off and leave the plastic piece with the 2 arms where it is. My old gaiter was strongly stapled in place on the base take the staples off with care not to crack the plastic base. .
